career background

EXECUTIVE COACH -- Barney Singer brings more than 30 years of experience as an attorney, advocate, professor, non-profit executive and coach in the public and private sectors in the US and internationally. Most recently, his experience includes serving as director of Leadership and Capacity Development Programs for FHI 360, including growing and overseeing a $250 million portfolio of international development projects. There, he oversees the development, design and implementation of leadership-development and technical and organizational capacity building initiatives that have empowered civil society leaders in 55 countries. He designed and teaches Law and Ethics in Leadership at the doctoral level and has designed and facilitated numerous curricula to support adult learning, growth and effectiveness in industry and government environments.

Mr. Singer is a seasoned manager and leader with advanced degrees in both law and psychology, and he is pursuing a doctorate in transformational leadership, to be awarded in May 2017. His technical experience includes organizational development, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, democracy and governance, social marketing and behavior change methodologies, strategic communications, civil society and community mobilization, workforce and youth issues. Mr. Singer brings a unitive, multi-disciplinary perspective to the design and implementation of programs in the U.S. and internationally.
